SUCCESSFUL Leeds pizza restaurant Buca Di Pizza will open its first Manchester venue in a few weeks.
An announcement on their Facebook page reveals that the Manchester venue promises to be more than just a pizza restaurant
Work has begun on their new site on Lloyd Street, which was previously occupied by the ill-fated Baltic Cellar.
Buca Di Pizza has been an immediate success in Leeds thanks to its unlimited “Tutto” pizza and prosecco for £22 offer, boozy bottomless brunches and ‘traditional classics with modern twists’.
Along with a number of classic pizza varieties, customers can choose from a signature Pizza Buca menu including ‘El Bastardo’ with spicy nduja paste and jalapenos, or ‘The Snake Charmer’ with Goan coconut curry sauce, chilli glazed paneer, lamb koftas and onion bhajis. Buca di Pizza also offer a range of pasta dishes as well as a number of cicchetti along with a cocktail list which has been created with a distinctly Italian flavour.
The first branch opened on Wellington Street, Leeds, in late 2014, followed by a second in the Grade II listed Stratford House building on Stainbeck Lane in 2016.

The brothers behind Buca di Pizza have a history of successful ventures. They have previously owned Leeds’ Epernay champagne bar, The Pour House and The Atlas Gastro pubs, self-serve beer bars, a French bar and a huge circuit bar over the years. Buca is a single concept which they intend to roll out across other cities.
Buca’s owner Geoff Thornton lives near Manchester and has been looking for suitable restaurant venues on this side of the Pennines for a while, but the Leeds and Chapel Allerton sites came up first and have proved successful for establishing the brand.
